West Ham United are not on the best of runs at the moment, having failed to win any of their last four matches.
That period includes Saturday’s 1-0 FA Cup loss against West Bromwich Albion, while the others have contributed to David Moyes’ side hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference.
Arguably the last team any side in this situation would want to face is table-toppers Liverpool, yet here we are.
The Hammers will be hoping to get something from the game, and FFC has predicted that Moyes could make five changes from the West Brom loss in an effort to achieve that.
The Hammers manager spoke about Lukasz Fabianski before the game, claiming that the Poland international has a chance of being available to face the European and world champions. If he is fit and able to stay fit, then this will be a huge boost for them.
Pablo Zabaleta, Issa Diop and Aaron Cresswell all keep their places in the team from the West Brom loss, but Fabian Balbuena comes out, having been part of the trio that was taken off at half time in the cup. This sees Angelo Ogbonna retake his place in the starting lineup.
Michail Antonio and Mark Noble also came on after the break against Slaven Bilic’s side – replacing Pablo Fornals and Carlos Sanchez respectively – with both of those joining Ogbonna in the starting XI.
Call yourself a West Ham expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?
Declan Rice is one of the first names on the teamsheet, as signified by the fact that he has started every one of West Ham’s 23 league games so far this season, so he naturally stays in the side.
Moyes has confirmed that Robert Snodgrass should be available for the game, which could mean that the 32-year-old slots straight back into the team.
Manuel Lanzini has played in all four of West Ham’s league games since Moyes arrived, and should continue that run here, playing behind Sebastien Haller.
Meanwhile, West Ham fans react to the potential departure of a club veteran.
