PSG's Mbappe, Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, and Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot – fresh from his team's side's FA Cup win on Saturday – were among the stars lucky enough to be invited onto the track before the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. All three were spoken to be legendary Sky Sports interviewer Brundle, with Mbappe's exchange being somewhat uncomfortable.

After Brundle confidently asserted he was "in charge" of the starting grid area, he tried and failed to speak to Mbappe at length – in something of an awkward exchange, as the PSG forward politely said he was just in Monaco to watch the racing as a fan.

Meanwhile, after Brundle interrupted Van Dijk's interview with a Viaplay reporter, the Dutch defender said: "First time on the grid, It's a really nice experience. It was always going to be a special experience coming here, I am very happy to be here. It is [electric] down here [on the grid]. Obviously the weather helps a lot… I don't know how they [the drivers] cope with all the attention not even an hour before the race – it's crazy. Massive respect, let's see what kind of spectacle the race will bring."
Brundle also spoke to FA Cup winner Dalot ahead of the race, with the Portuguese saying: "Thank you very much. It went very, very well. It was the best way to end the season and now it feels good to come here as a FA Cup winner.
"It's my first time [at an F1 race], I couldn't pick a better place to come. It's unbelievable the experience and I hope I enjoy the race."

While the domestic season has come to an end for Dalot, Van Dijk, and Mbappe, all three will represent Portugal, the Netherlands, and France respectively at this summer's European championships. Until then, they enjoying some of the perks of being famous. Dalot's United team-mate Mason Mount was also spotted enjoying himself at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
