Fernandez suffered the hernia injury earlier in the season, and it is said to have affected his form as a result. The 23-year-old has been a mainstay in the Blues' side but has admitted he is not yet been at his best since his record transfer last January.
WHAT POCHETTINO SAID
Speaking on Fernandez, Pochettino said: “We are going to do what is the best for him. We (as a coaching staff) have experience of managing this situation.
"First of all, the most important thing is him as a person, not as a player. It’s about how he feels and if he is comfortable with the situation or not. We will all support his decision (if he feels he needs surgery). We are not going to force him to do something. We are here to help and advise him of our assessment and experience."

Chelsea will be hoping Fernandez can show off his undoubted talent as they come up against the might of Pep Guardiola's side on Saturday. The Blues do come into the game off the back of their biggest win of the season and on eight-game unbeaten run. Could Cole Palmer do it again against his old club?
