Tottenham had quiet January transfer windowPostecoglou joked Spurs missed good opportunityReferenced Hamilton's shock Ferrari move in F1 WHAT HAPPENED?
Spurs recruited defender Radu Dragusin from Genoa in a deal that could rise to £26 million ($33m) in the first half of January, not long after bringing in forward Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig. Ahead of Saturday's lunchtime kick-off against Everton, manager Postecoglou initially sounded dejected that they didn't get a key player over the line to the eager journalists, before quipping about Hamilton, 39, leaving Mercedes for Ferrari for the 2025 season.

He said at a press conference: "Probably the only disappointing one was yesterday I thought there was a really good opportunity for us but the club just didn't feel it was the right move for us so disappointed with that… but he ended up at Ferrari so we just have to cop it!
"Look at you all! You were ready to type away. I was going to pause just to let [the press officer's] phone blow up, but it was a good one, mate, a good one. You had a flat day so I'm trying to spark you."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Despite the joke, Postecoglou was happy with the transfer business his side, who sit fourth in the Premier League, did in January.
He told reporters: "We had clear objectives. We had a gap at centre-back after letting Davinson Sanchez go and getting Radu [Dragusin] in was great. Getting Timo [Werner] early also excellent. We've had injuries with Sonny [Son Heung-min] away, and already he's made a contribution. If we left it to the last day it takes time to settle. Both have settled well. With outgoings, we got some good loans. With Alejo [Veliz] it's great for him to get game time at a good club (Sevilla). Also players like Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine got good loans."
