In an interview with Sky Sports, former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna had a lot to say on how things are looking at the Emirates under Unai Emery, and what he said has shocked fans.
Emery took over in the summer as Arsene Wenger departed – thus ending a 22-year tenure – and has since guided the Gunners to an 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Frenchman Sagna left the north London club in 2014 for Manchester City and currently plies his trade with Montreal Impact in the MLS but, as his interview indicates, his heart still belongs in north London.
“I am so happy to see the club back to its best. Arsenal is in my heart, it is my club.”
Surprising words, considering many surely felt that the 35-year-old turned his back on the very same club in favour of money – here’s how Gunners fans reacted on Twitter.
